Ashlee
Ashlee is a native Spanish speaker from Miami, Florida. Having been raised in both a bilingual household and bilingual surrounding, Ashlee has had an appreciation for language from a young age. Ashlee is also fluent in French, and has been studying the language since she was 12 years old. She obtained a B.A. in Romance Languages, Literatures, and Culture from the University of Maryland this past year. Currently, Ashlee resides in Maryland and is a project manager for a translation company.
Ashlee has been tutoring professionally since a young age. She started at the age of 16, a few years after she began babysitting. She continued tutoring in both French and Spanish all throughout college as well. She also has a lot of experience in childcare; she began babysitting at the age of 15 and was a camp counselor and CIT for many years at local day camps, as well as at a sleep-away camp. In her tutoring sessions, Ashlee loves to find a way to make learning fun and relative and personalize each lesson to the student’s individual needs. In doing so, her hope is to make other people fall in love with language and culture.
In her free time, Ashlee loves to learn new languages, cook, and binge-watch shows, such as Grey’s Anatomy or Law and Order: SVU. She also has an affinity for grammar in any language and sociolinguistics/sociocultural anthropology.
