Azua is a student at American University, where she is pursuing a dual degree in Environmental Science and International Studies. Prior to college, she taught English and math at a professional tutoring company for three years. What was initially just a simple part-time tutoring job turned into a deep appreciation for effective education. Last year, Azua studied abroad at Oxford University, where she dove further into the intricacies of academia and learning.
In college, Azua has served as a teaching assistant for several leadership and science classes. She has also tutored biology and writing. In 2016, she traveled to China, where she designed and taught a class on environmental science for middle school students living in rural areas. Azua believes that a key component of learning is connecting concepts to real world issues.
In her free time, Azua loves reading and baking. She has a special enthusiasm for finding healthy alternatives to not-so-healthy recipes.
