Chase

Chase graduated with a B.A. in Economics from University of Maryland Baltimore County. During his undergraduate studies, he assisted an Environmental Economist at NOAA in publishing a macroeconomic study on the tourism expenditure in Puerto Rico titled "Economic Contribution of Reef Using Visitor Spending to the Puerto Rican Economy". Fascinated with the use of statistics in the real world, Chase focused on studying more Econometrics, which eventually led him to pursue a Data Science degree in graduate school.

Chase has over five years’ experience tutoring middle and high school level math classes such as Algebra I & II, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus. In addition, Chase has tutored college level Statistics and Mathematics courses for seven years. Furthermore, Chase has two years of swim instructing experience, during which he helped three-month-old babies acclimate to a pool/beach setting.

Chase developed a passion for tutoring after peer tutoring high school classmates in the International Baccalaureate program. Chase values the learning process and understands that it takes determined practice to conquer a difficult subject. He is great at breaking down math problems and explaining economic concepts that are very difficult to understand to students. Whether the child is confused, unsure, or lacking confidence, Chase is determined to break students out of their slump and push them into success.

In his free time, Chase loves to play any sport related to water or snow, lift weights, and read non-fiction books.
