Kara
Kara graduated from Messiah University with a B.A. in Spanish Language. As required by her major, she studied abroad in Valparaíso, Chile, where she took classes in language, culture, anthropology, and politics. In her senior year of college, she also completed a three-credit intensive Spanish course in Quito, Ecuador at the Andean Center for Latin American Studies. While studying Spanish language at Messiah, Kara also completed a minor in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). During college, her love for different cultures encouraged her to reach out to international students who needed help learning English.
After graduating form college, Kara began mentoring middle schoolers through after school programs, summer camps, and youth retreats. She also continued to help the international community through Spanish to English translation.
Kara has taught ESL (English as a Second Language) in the U.S., Brazil, and Honduras. Most recently, she served as a volunteer teacher for a nursery and high school in a Honduran private school.
Kara enjoys being a resource to those around her. She is very enthusiastic about education and prides herself in being a lifelong learner. She is very excited to be a part of the Ad Alta Tutoring family.
In her free time, Kara enjoys gardening, Latin dancing, traveling, and attending cultural festivals.
