Nancy graduated with a BA in Classics from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. She began tutoring a neighbor’s son in the summer of 2008, and quickly discovered an enjoyment of and talent for teaching and tutoring. Throughout college and after graduation, she continued to tutor students in Latin, English, mathematics, history, standardized test preparation, and study skills, building experience with various ages and learning styles.

While at university, Nancy led a Latin reading group, helped found a Latin and Greek honorary, and studied abroad in London, Italy, and Greece. These experiences continue to enrich her teaching, since she was able to delve deeply into classical subjects on each trip.

Nancy has experience working with multiple curricula, and enjoys incorporating both traditional and active approaches to Latin in her tutoring sessions. She believes that students can benefit from Latin in a variety of ways, and enjoys finding creative ways for students to connect with the material.

Outside of tutoring, Nancy stays busy fundraising for an educational non-profit and think tank. She enjoys reading, singing, learning languages, and trying new foods.
