Sarah

Sarah is the co-founder and executive director of Sarah Farzayee School, an elementary school serving K-6th grade students in Afghanistan. She remotely directs the school from Washington D.C. in addition to implementing STEM enrichment curriculum and providing virtual classroom support. Sarah has worked in the education field as a teacher, tutor, and director for over a decade. She has a deep-rooted interest in and passion for helping children around the world.

Sarah has a background degree in psychology, specializing in child development and educational research. She is especially interested in longitudinal research and how contextual forces affect children’s academics and life-long success. Her biggest goal is narrowing the widening education gap within the United States. She aims to set higher standards in education.

Sarah teaches with patience and passion. She is a progressive educator who approaches the learning process holistically and is constantly researching. She believes that education, like healthcare, should always evolve. Learning is not a “one size fits all” process and it should be taught and tested accordingly.

Sarah first analyzes her students’ strengths, weaknesses, and personality styles. She adjusts her teaching methods to correlate with her students’ learning preferences. Sarah believes that every student can excel when given the right educational tools.

Currently, Sarah is working towards completing her educational studies from Harvard Graduate School of Education. She also homeschools her young two children. In her free time, Sarah enjoys collecting inspirational quotes, baking, and reading the latest groundbreaking research in education. You can always find her with a book and coffee in hand.
